This is compilation of my deeepest thoughts, my shallowest thoughts, my life, and my enlightenment.

Fitness Ventures: Belly Dance

I get extremely bored with working out. Probably because deep down I'm not interested.

I much rather be at the state fair eating funnel cake...lol.

But, since I do have my interests in being healthy, I take it upon myself to find fun ways to work out.  I've tried yoga, walking workouts, and running outdoors, but without a mash-up of many things, I get very bored.

Hence I try: belly dancing.

The yoga studio that I frequented the end of last year was known for their belly dancing.  I've always wanted to try it, but was so much on my "yoga trip" that I decided to save that for later.

Later is now.

After a light lunch at the Belgian Cafe (who has delicious fries with an equally delicious mayo dip, btw), we traveled about 4 blocks and went to Studio1831. They had a great Living Social deal not too long ago, so the class was relatively full for a Thursday night.  We all got lined up with our cute little sashes (which they loan out to you during the class), and began shaking our hips like Shakira. Lol.

I definitely need to work on my stomach undulations, but besides that I think I did pretty well. Elsa said I looked pretty good during the class in which I said, "Like I always say, fake it til you make it!"

Lol. Def should try out belly dancing if you were thinking about it, and if you are in the Philadelphia Area, Studio1831 has awesome classes to try this out!

Check out studio1831.com for more info on their classes, and check out their performance here (c/o studio1831.com)!

Write Byte: Relationships

Relationships can be like poetry.
Sometimes they rhyme expectantly,
And sometimes they catch people off guard.
There's cadence, and romance, and evoked emotions.
There's deep thoughts, and regret, and articulate but unspoken words.
There's feelings, and inplicit meanings, and words that seem to barely scratch the surface.
There's things you could say but never really do.
There's hope and dreams and limitations,
Because relationships are a lot more than words.
But as with most things, expect the unexpected.

Clearly a beauty genius!!!!!

So excited about grabbing 2 tubes of All My Purple Life from the MAC Blogger's Obsession Collection that went on sale as of June 21.  When Patrice of Afrobella gave the beauty and fashion world the scoop on the collection, I was more than ecstatic to get me a piece of the action.

Feeling as though my ship has sailed, I gave it a try and low and behold...there are still some tubes available! The beauty gods do love me after all! Needless to say, I'm excited to own such an original and gorgeous color! I'll snap a few pics (if and when I remember)! Ciao!

Laundry Time: Breaking All the Rules

It's hilarious that things like reading instructions have become so unorthodox to some people in our society. Instant gratification has brain washed a lot of us to do things the fastest way possible.

I have found that menial tasks like washing laundry, have even become exposed to this way of thinking.

I ain't gonna lie, I've jacked up my fair share of my own clothing

I've been told many times that "You're so smart, you're stupid". I simply laugh but I definitely know what they mean.  They are saying that even though I have two bachelors degreees, can beat an average person in a game of Scrapple, and can help children in almost any grade with their math homework, that I lack much common sense.

I get it, it happens that I really overthink things most times and that I actually am very smart, but consider too many options when posed with an issue.

I must admit that laundry time used to not be one of those "thinking times".

When mom showed me how to sort colored, whites, and darks, I thought it was as simple as that.  I didn't realize that some garments just couldn't tolerate what I thought of as normal treatment, and instead needed a little extra attention.

Whether it be "line dry" or "wash inside out" or "tumble dry low"...I just couldn't understand why my clothes couldn't hold up to a wash.

This was simply because: I wasn't reading the instructions!
Gasp...surprise! I am so frickin silly sometimes.  Cheers to the intelligent!

And if you really are having some trouble washing like me...just follow the instructions on this tag:

Priorities...

All My Purple Life from the Bloggers Obsession collection for MAC, dresses for this wedding in July, or a trip to the craft store to start these crochet projects I'm working on...

Sometime life doesn't give you just lemons, and you gotta choose which refreshing beverage to make.

Write Byte: Eternity

Always and forever seems like it speaks to eternity.

Too bad love doesn't have
That kind of built in security

Many think love is based in maturity
But to those divorcees, I pray for their sanity

Because nothing speaks love like clasped hands and after school walks, and carrying books and sharing gum

Because it was so innocent, it was beautiful

So untarnished, yet requited love
Insatiable love
Speaking to deep obsession
Less about passion and more infatuation

How can you judge one of love's sweetest flavors?
If I would of only savored it when I had that magical love

Oh love, how do I find thee?
I look inside me and can't find anything.

I thought love was all these things
Death do us part, weddings, and rings

But what changed everything
Is when I learned what not to expect

Love is everything, but most importantly, it's you

A Curly Girl's: Twist-Out Inspired by Curlychronicles

I'm sure she doesn't know it, but one of my staple styles was inspired by Curlychronicles of Youtube fame. She helped me master a lot of things about my hair, and her drying video was a life saver. No longer would I walk the Philly streets with frizzy half set hair.

Watch the video here.

For me, this video solved the riddle of wet hair. This method ensures dry sets, and is also very successful for my wash and go's.

Wash & Go- Air Dry
Here's how I do my signature style:
As she said, I twist my hair and let it dry for about 45 minutes (if I have the time), or until I'm ready to run out the door. This helps cut down my drying time, and ensures an untangled mane of hair after drying. I then retwist at night or pineapple (add hyperlink) my hair and fluff in the morning for a style that can last about 4 days!

Don't let someone you don't love own your happiness.

If you used to do that with that, and used to do this with this...don't stop.

Don't let your heart be afraid to feel the way you felt back then, because when you get past all that, you find happiness, the happiness love left behind.

I'm not saying it because it's easy...I'm saying it because I'm doing it.
